Crispy Baked Chicken

We all loooovee KFC right? But I have a recipe here for KFC style chicken and the good thing is, its not fried, its baked!! Thats gotta be great, right?

At some point of time we tend to look out for healthier options or cut down on fat every now and then. This is one of those recipes which is healthier, coz its not fried, plus it tastes awesome too!
And whats more, its very simple with ingredients that you will find easily in your kitchen.
I serve it, at times, as a part of the main course for dinner or at other times, as snacks too.
I made these with chicken thighs but you can add any part. Just keep in mind that time and temperature to cook different parts may vary, for e.g thighs take a little longer than breasts. If the meat is cooked longer than required it will turn out dry.

Ingredients:

Chicken thighs  6 pcs
Flour    1/2 cup
Cornflakes   1/2 cup
Salt   1 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder   1 1/2 tsp
Garlic powder    1/2 tsp
Basil   1/2 tsp
Oregano   1/2 tsp
Milk   125 ml
Melted butter   4 tbsp

Method:

1. Combine flour, cornflakes (plain not flavoured), salt, chilly powder, garlic powder, basil and oregano in a bowl.

2. Dip the chicken pieces into the milk first,  then roll it around in the flour mix and make sure its well coated.

3. Place it on a baking tray. Repeat the same with all the chicken pieces.

4. Drizzle melted butter on the chicken and bake it at 180*C for 45mins or until the chicken is golden and juices run clear.

5. Remove from the oven and just dig in while it hot n crispy!

*Note to Yeshey Aji*- Hope this recipe will coax you into buying an OTG. This and the Crackling Pork Belly!!
